Here, I will be posting up a summary of a Pokemon, suggesting a strong moveset, and commenting on the Pokemon as a whole. Pokemon will be posted up randomly, although I will take requests.
I’ll start with what could be my favorite Pokemon in the games, Starmie!
Ice’s Pokemon of the Moment is… Starmie! Starmie is probably my favorite Stone-evolutioner. Although I typically hate the fact that “stoned” pokemon learn little or no moves after evolving, Starmie is a definite exception because of its awesome Speed, plus its nearly unlimited move options. Let’s see what I’ll do with Starmie…
Obtaining Starmie: Starmie cannot be found in the wild, but you can find a pre-evo, Staryu, in Canalave City and Sunyshore City by fishing with the Super Rod. They’re quite rare, so have patiemce!

Starmie, the Mysterious Pokemon. Starmie seems to have its forte in Special Attack and Speed. I rather like the way Starmie’s stats are laid out… its Special Attack isn’t say, Dragonite, but it certainly has the ability to back up a beam. ^^
Starmie: Natural Cure
@Expert Belt
-Ice Beam/Psychic
-Thunder/Confuse Ray/Power Gem
-Rain Dance
-Hydro Pump
This Starmie has a huge movepool to SE almost any opponent. With Expert Belt, these SE moves will be amplified. Hydro Pump for STAB, of course, while Ice Beam is for the Grass/Dragon/Flying you may face… Psychic may have the same effect, while providing STAB.
Other move options include Confuse Ray… I suppose Confuse Ray will be a great move for when you may have a problem with the opposing side’s strength… Also, Recover is an option. Recover will maybe allow you to get back on your feet when faced with a SE hit. Power Gem is a Special Rock-type move… that’s about it, really.
Have fun training this Supra Spinning Starfish, and I’ll be back again for another time. I hope you found this useful.
Nice sets, but I prefer Bolt-Beam-Surf-Psy Starmie better, just because of the unreliable weather in OU play (with Tyranitar and possibly Groudon, Kyogre and Hippowdon about, the forecast is unclear). Confuse Ray can work too, but I prefer Surf over Hydro Pump because of its reliable accuracy and only slightly lower power, plus the ability to hit two opponents in Double Battles as long as your partner resists it. Recover… well, I don’t like to put Recover on a sweeper that can be taken down in one hit anyway. Expert Belt is nice, but Choice Specs works too. Another consideration for the moveset (sorry, just remembered this) is Rapid Spin, which allows Starmie to pretty much wreck Skarmory with Thunderbolt and Rapid Spin to demolish its Spikes. This also works for Stealth Rockers, which are sometimes Rock-types for an added water STAB+SE bonus.
That’s my opinion on Starmie.

Why do you like Roserade so much? Is it because it looks cool? Or strong in battle? Or in the TCG?
